To provide high specification audiovisual systems for board, Videoconference and meeting rooms, and digital signage displays for reception and corridor/breakout areas.
The client needed a solution which provided an opportunity to display and schedule marketing material around the building for their clients and employees, using the display of different information sources.
Boardroom environment should be equipped with high tech equipment, providing desktop connectivity for PC and video sources.
Meeting rooms should be equipped with infrastructure to allow desktop connection of laptop PC’s and a shared mobile display.
Videoconferencing facilities with twin screens should be available in one dedicated meeting room.
Reception display should be a visual statement on entrance to the floor, able to show web images, TV pictures and welcome messages.
Breakout and corridor areas should allow display of web, PC and TV images/audio
Satellite TV should be available at various point through the space.
The Solutions:
Boardroom
The Boardroom is a large space with a folding partition wall. Both rooms can be used as separate systems with ceiling mounted projectors and recessed electric projection screens. Images from VCR, DVD, free to air TV, dedicated PC and 2 No. laptops can be selected. Audio is provided via 100v line amplifiers and flush mounted ceiling loudspeakers.
When the folding wall is retracted, the two systems become one with the screen in room one as the focal display. Audio is now reproduced through speakers in both rooms.
Control and automated switching of all equipment is achieved by the integration of two AMX wireless touchpanel systems, which also allows control of lighting levels.
Meeting rooms
In the meeting rooms, bespoke input plates are installed at 2 floor box positions to allow connection of laptops at the meeting table and a mobile plasma screen. This shared resource can be quickly connected in any of the client meeting rooms to provide a presentation medium as and when required.
Videoconference room
One of the meeting rooms is equipped with a VC system displaying people, and content from laptop PC’s via two 50” plasma screens. Microphone and laptop connections are provided at the desktop and the room can be made larger by retracting a folding partition wall allowing VC meetings for more attendees.
Reception, corridor and breakout areas
Digital signage screens with embedded PC’s were wall mounted either in bespoke joinery casings or to column faces. These units together with a server PC housed in the marketing department allow content to be scheduled and displayed relating to the area and message required. For example, in the reception area, the screen is split to show images from TV and scrolling welcome messages, audio is reproduced via flush mounted ceiling speakers.
TV system
A satellite TV system is installed comprising a roof mounted dish with 10 No. satellite receivers and switching rack mounted in the comms room. This allows a variety of channels to be scheduled to any display, with channel control local to the display over RF cabling.
