The Brief 

At RAF Valley, there are a number of different training rooms with different requirements, from laptop output onto interactive whiteboards to the ability to display laptop, blu-ray, DVD & VCR onto a large format automated electric front projection screens. 

The Solution:  Small Briefing Rooms 

Viewpoint installed 48” Smart  interactive whiteboards with a high specification Optoma ceiling mounted projector into the small briefing rooms.  Connection plates were mounted onto the existing Dado trunking with connections for VGA / audio, composite video and USB connection to the Smartboard.

The Solution: Main Briefing Room

Viewpoint installed a large electronic tab tensioned front projection screen with a high specification ceiling mounted Mitsubishi projector. A Blu-Ray player, DVD / VCR recorder and amplifier were mounted into a lectern at the front of the room. A Smart Sympodium was also installed on the lectern to allow for screen interactivity. Ceiling mounted speakers and a surround sound system were installed, allowing audio to be heard throughout the room.  The lecterns have been fitted with laptop docks, each with a wireless presenter mouse, and  lectern microphones were installed with connection to the ceiling mounted speakers. An AMX touch screen panel was also installed into the lectern to provide total room control. 

The Solution: Large Briefing Rooms

In the large briefing rooms, Viewpoint have installed 87” 16:10 format Smart interactive whiteboards with a high specification Optoma ceiling mounted projector. Lecterns have been fitted and installed with DVD / VCR recorders and laptop docking stations. The lecterns were fitted with an additional shelf to allow for the use of a Samsung visualiser. Connections run through a floor mounted plate directly into the lectern and two high specification NEC LCD panels were installed on extending brackets with DVI connectivity for use with the RAF flight training software. A Kramer wall mounted button control was fitted to allow control of source, volume and power.
All rooms are fitted with a remote control presenter mouse, enabling the control of a laptop / PC from a remote location.

The Solution: Electronic Classrooms

Similarly to the large briefing rooms, the electronic classrooms have also been installed with 87” 16:10 format Smart interactive whiteboards  with a high specification Optoma ceiling mounted projector. Wall mounted speakers run to an under desk amplifier to give control to the audio, and VGA and USB run through a floorbox directly into a laptop docking station.

The Solution: Crew Room / Flight Ops Room

Viewpoint have installed a 52” high specification LCD display on ceiling mounted Unicol brackets with a wall mounted VGA and audio plate to allow PC / laptop connectivity.
