Interior design and fit-out specialist Claremont has completed a substantial training academy project for the Ministry of Defence at St George's Barracks in Bicester.
The Academy is a conversion of a distribution depot and has been developed as a centre of excellence for the training of armed forces personnel in the use of its new Bowman wireless technology systems. The Academy comprises twelve electronic classrooms, a number of offices, meeting rooms, reception and large break-out areas. The facility can train up to 250 personnel at any one time.
Working in close partnership with Agusta Westland, Claremont's brief has been to develop a high-quality learning environment using the latest technologies for presentations, computer learning and allowing the total integration of flat-screens, personal computers and systems furniture.
The project was completed from first meeting to handover within twelve weeks and the academy becomes the second major centre for Bowman training within the past twelve months, both undertaken by Claremont.
